Global PPS, the one responsible for the processing of your data on this site, respects the Belgian Law of 8 december 1992, relating to the protection of your private life, in the processing of personal details and respects the EU law concerning the protection of natural persons’ personal details and the ability to be forgotten (guideline 95/46/EG).

Global PPS has it’s office in University of Antwerp, Universiteitsplein 1, 2610 Antwerpen and can be reached by mailing global-PPS@uantwerpen.be  .Further on, Global PPS will be called ‘us’ or ‘we’.

In this statement (afterwards called ‘Privacy Policy’), we let you know which data we track when you use our website, why we track it and how we use this to improve your user experience. This way you know exactly how we work.

 

This Privacy Policy is applicable to our website (i) Global PPS (afterwards called (the website’), (ii) our services, and (iii) on the sharing of media posts from Global PPS. (Point (i) and (ii) are called will be called ‘the services’ after this.

The use of our website, or one or more services offered by Global PPS, as well as the sharing of media posts by Global PPS, implies your express approval (by means of personal data opt-in) of this Privacy Policy and thus the way in which we track, use and store your data, (where there is no further permission required  by law. )

The lawful basis for processing personal information for this purpose will be “Legitimate Interest”. 

 

Disclosing personal data to third parties:

We don’t share your personal data with third party, unless it’s needed to provide a service to you. If, in this framework, Global PPS has to share your personal data with third parties, this party is obligated to use it in accordance with the provisions in this Privacy Policy.  

It is, however, possible that Global PPS shares your information with the authorities (i) when we are obligated to do so by law or in the context of a judicial or future judicial procedure and (ii) to safeguard and enforce our laws.

Global PPS will not sell, rent out or give your data to third parties, unless there’s a data processing agreement, with this party, that contains the necessary guarantees concerning confidentiality and privacy of you personal data.

 

Storage of personal data

Global PPS will store your data for a period of 10 years (or for the duration of contract), unless when there’s a longer storage period needed or justified by (i) law or (ii) by the compliance of another legal obligation. This period is necessary to achieve and fulfill the goals, described in this Privacy Policy under ‘use of personal data’. We commit us, however, to use a shorter storage period when this 10 year storage is not required.

Securing your personal data

Global PPS obligates itself to take reasonable, physical, technological and organizational precautions with a view to preventing (i) unauthorized access to your personal data, as well as (ii) loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.

Global PPS will store all of the personal data processed on a secure server in the European Union. 

Notwithstanding our safety policy, the controls that we perform and the actions we take in this context, an infallible level of security can not be guaranteed. No method of transfer or retransmission via the Internet nor any method of electronic storage is 100% secure, so we can not guarantee absolute security in this context.

The visitor acknowledges that possible direct or indirect damage that he or she might suffer as a result of illegal or unlawful use of his or her personal data by third parties who have no permission to do so, can not be blamed on Global PPS. Nor can Global PPS be held accountable as long as it’s not due to a gross error or deceit by Global PPS.

Cross-border processing of personal data

All personal data collected by us will only be processed and stored in Belgium or another EU-country. By such, there is no cross-border transmission or processing of your personal data.

Global PPS

Global PPS runs on open source wordpress software. To make your browsing experience more enjoyable, information about the site is saved via cookies on the hard drive of your PC.
