Short course on Antibiotic Resistance Containment in Low-Resource Settings Short course on Antibiotic Resistance Containment in Low-Resource Settings 11月 20, 2023 In June 2024, the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp will be organizing a practical 3-week training on antibiotic resistance and its containment at hospital level in low-resource settings.This course will be of particular interest to the members of the Global-PPS community who are working on developing Antibiotic Stewardship interventions in their institutions. It contains a specific programme track on Antibiotic Stewardship, covering topics such as the rational use of antibiotics, gathering/understanding antibiotic use data, translation of antibiotic resistance data into guidelines as well as a closer look on the prescriber and patient perspectives.This interactive training offers a mixture of lectures, hands-on sessions, case discussions, data analysis, role-play and debates. It is open to health care workers (medical doctors, nursing staff, clinical officers, pharmacists, biomedical scientists and laboratory staff) working in hospital facilities in low-resource settings.The course will take place from 3 to 21 June 2024 in Antwerp, Belgium.
