antibiotiques dans les h\u00f4pitaux pour mettre en place des mesures de gestion cibl\u00e9es et efficaces. Dans le cadre d'une nouvelle \u00e9tude Global Point Prevalence Survey (Global-PPS), des chercheurs ont cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 identifier les facteurs pr\u00e9dictifs de l'utilisation des antibiotiques au niveau hospitalier dans diff\u00e9rents \u00e9tablissements de sant\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le monde.<\/p><p>L'\u00e9tude a port\u00e9 sur 138 h\u00f4pitaux situ\u00e9s en Belgique, aux Philippines et en Afrique du Sud qui ont particip\u00e9 au module Global-PPS 2022-2023 consacr\u00e9 aux infections associ\u00e9es aux soins de sant\u00e9 (IAS). \u00c0 l'aide de mod\u00e8les lin\u00e9aires mixtes et de m\u00e9thodes de s\u00e9lection par \u00e9tapes, l'\u00e9quipe a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer quelles caract\u00e9ristiques hospitali\u00e8res \u00e9taient associ\u00e9es \u00e0 une pr\u00e9valence plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e de l'utilisation d'antibiotiques. Les r\u00e9sultats ont mis en \u00e9vidence des diff\u00e9rences substantielles entre les pays : aucun facteur pr\u00e9dictif n'\u00e9tait commun aux trois mod\u00e8les nationaux.<\/p><p>M\u00eame si le type de dispositifs invasifs variait d'un pays \u00e0 l'autre, les h\u00f4pitaux qui traitaient une proportion plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e de patients \u00e9quip\u00e9s de ces dispositifs enregistraient \u00e9galement une consommation plus importante d'antibiotiques. L'\u00e9tude souligne :<\/p><ul><li>Des diff\u00e9rences notables ont \u00e9t\u00e9 constat\u00e9es entre les pays en ce qui concerne les facteurs pr\u00e9dictifs de l'utilisation d'antibiotiques au niveau des h\u00f4pitaux<\/li><li>La proportion de patients porteurs de (certains) dispositifs invasifs semble constituer un facteur pr\u00e9dictif important \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle mondiale<\/li><li>La prise en compte de facteurs contextuels plus larges pourrait permettre de mieux cerner les facteurs pr\u00e9dictifs de l'utilisation des antibiotiques<\/li><\/ul><p>Annelies Boven, autrice de l'\u00e9tude : \u00ab Nous consid\u00e9rons ce type de recherche comme une \u00e9tape importante pour rendre l'analyse comparative au niveau des h\u00f4pitaux plus pertinente et pour transformer les r\u00e9sultats automatiques du Global-PPS en informations que les h\u00f4pitaux peuvent r\u00e9ellement exploiter dans le cadre d'une gestion cibl\u00e9e.
