Un d\u00eda a la semana, trabajo en el Ministerio de Salud, donde colaboro con Linos en programas nacionales de RAM y prevenci\u00f3n de infecciones.<\/p><p><strong>Linos Hadjihannas<\/strong>: Dirijo la Unidad de Enfermedades Infecciosas del Hospital General de Nicosia y trabajo con Markella en el Ministerio de Salud. Ambas somos puntos focales para la RAM y las infecciones nosocomiales.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 motiv\u00f3 tu inter\u00e9s en la RAM y la administraci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Linos<\/strong>: La RAM y las infecciones nosocomiales son centrales en nuestros campos. Vemos de primera mano los riesgos para la seguridad del paciente, por lo que contribuir a los esfuerzos nacionales de RAM es una extensi\u00f3n natural de nuestro trabajo. Chipre tiene un alto consumo de antibi\u00f3ticos y tasas de RAM, similar a otros pa\u00edses del sur de Europa. No es solo un problema nacional, es cultural.<\/p><p><strong>Marcela<\/strong>Exacto. Se trata de h\u00e1bitos: c\u00f3mo se prescriben los antibi\u00f3ticos y c\u00f3mo se practica la prevenci\u00f3n de infecciones. No carecemos de directrices, pero el seguimiento y la adhesi\u00f3n son los verdaderos obst\u00e1culos. Hasta hace poco, la mayor\u00eda de los hospitales ni siquiera contaban con comit\u00e9s de AMS. Eso cambi\u00f3 el a\u00f1o pasado, cuando una circular del Ministerio los hizo obligatorios.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 fue necesario hacer obligatorios los comit\u00e9s de AMS en los hospitales?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Marcela<\/strong>Sin estructuras de gesti\u00f3n, no existe un enfoque coordinado para la prescripci\u00f3n. Los equipos multidisciplinarios de gesti\u00f3n de antimicrobianos (AMS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) son esenciales para desarrollar intervenciones realistas y espec\u00edficas del contexto. Recomendamos al Ministerio que se exija a los hospitales que los formen, y el Ministerio de Salud (MoH, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) estuvo de acuerdo. A finales de 2024, se emiti\u00f3 una directiva a todos los hospitales, p\u00fablicos y privados. Ese es un cambio importante.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo te involucraste por primera vez en drive-AMS? \u00bfFue a trav\u00e9s del equipo griego de drive-AMS?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Marcela<\/strong>: No. Comenz\u00f3 con Rosa Perran del Ministerio de Salud, Bienestar y Deportes de los Pa\u00edses Bajos. En una reuni\u00f3n de la EU-JAMRAI, ella sugiri\u00f3 que nos uni\u00e9ramos al curso de capacitaci\u00f3n drive-AMS. A partir de ah\u00ed, nos presentaron a Jeroen Schouten y luego al Prof. Roilides en Grecia.<\/p><p><strong>Linos:<\/strong> Nos dimos cuenta de que el curso encajaba perfectamente con Chipre. Acab\u00e1bamos de crear comit\u00e9s AMS, y esta era una oportunidad oportuna para formarlos.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 logr\u00f3 la capacitaci\u00f3n de febrero de 2025?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Linos: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/es\/capacitando-a-los-equipos-de-ams-en-chipre-a-traves-del-curso-de-gestion-antimicrobiana-drive-ams\/\">El primer entrenamiento reuni\u00f3 a los equipos de AMS<\/a> de los ocho hospitales m\u00e1s grandes de Chipre: cuatro p\u00fablicos y cuatro privados. Cada equipo dise\u00f1\u00f3 un proyecto realista a peque\u00f1a escala para poner en marcha su programa de AMS. Fue una excelente manera de combinar la pol\u00edtica con la pr\u00e1ctica.<\/p><p><strong>Marcella:<\/strong> El curso tambi\u00e9n nos introdujo a nuevos conceptos como la identificaci\u00f3n de barreras y facilitadores de comportamiento. Sin embargo, un mensaje clave para llevar a casa fue que el cambio lleva tiempo. Comienza con metas peque\u00f1as y realistas. En el curso, los instructores usaron la met\u00e1fora del bamb\u00fa chino: riegas y riegas y no ves nada durante mucho tiempo, pero de repente, crece fuerte y alto. As\u00ed es como el cambio en AMS echar\u00e1 ra\u00edces.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es el plan de seguimiento despu\u00e9s del curso de febrero?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Linos<\/strong>Cada hospital dise\u00f1\u00f3 un proyecto realista de AMS durante el curso. Ahora estamos manteniendo teleconferencias de seguimiento cada pocos meses, donde cada equipo presenta su progreso. Entrenadores de Grecia se unen para aconsejar y apoyar.<\/p><p><strong>Marcella:<\/strong> La mayor\u00eda de los hospitales tambi\u00e9n llevaron a cabo un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/es\/\">Global-PPS<\/a> medici\u00f3n antes del curso, y muchos planean repetirla en un a\u00f1o para seguir las mejoras. Descubrimos que el Global-PPS es muy f\u00e1cil de usar y no consume demasiado tiempo. Eso lo convierte en una excelente herramienta para medir el progreso a lo largo del tiempo.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 resultados esperas ver?<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Marcela<\/strong>No esperamos que Chipre se convierta en Suecia de la noche a la ma\u00f1ana. Pero esperamos estabilizar la situaci\u00f3n y conseguir peque\u00f1as victorias en cada hospital. Se trata de iniciar un cambio cultural, de crear conciencia y fomentar el cambio desde dentro. Las ra\u00edces est\u00e1n puestas. With the enthusiastic leadership of Dr. Elisavet Constantinou, Dr. Markella Marcou and Dr. Linos Hadjihannas, the country has taken major steps in implementing antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) at the hospital level. In a first major milestone, eight newly established AMS teams were trained in February 2025 as part of a tailor-made drive-AMS training.
