A trav\u00e9s de intervenciones espec\u00edficas, IMAGINE tiene como objetivo reducir las tasas de infecci\u00f3n, especialmente las infecciones del tracto urinario (ITU), y minimizar el uso inadecuado de antibi\u00f3ticos en residencias de ancianos de ocho pa\u00edses europeos: Dinamarca, Espa\u00f1a, Grecia, Polonia, Eslovenia, Eslovaquia, Lituania y Hungr\u00eda.<\/p><p><strong>Un enfoque integral para el control de infecciones<\/strong><\/p><p>En el coraz\u00f3n de esta iniciativa se encuentra una intervenci\u00f3n multifac\u00e9tica que combina estrategias de prevenci\u00f3n y control de infecciones (PCI) con pr\u00e1cticas de administraci\u00f3n de antimicrobianos (AMS). Una caracter\u00edstica clave de IMAGINE es su <strong>investigaci\u00f3n-acci\u00f3n participativa<\/strong> modelo, donde los participantes se involucran en el dise\u00f1o de la intervenci\u00f3n, incluida la priorizaci\u00f3n del contenido y las herramientas que se necesitan. Una auditor\u00eda pre y posintervenci\u00f3n permitir\u00e1 a los participantes evaluar sus pr\u00e1cticas actuales y medir el impacto de las estrategias implementadas.<\/p><p><strong>Capacitaci\u00f3n e impacto<\/strong><\/p><p>A lo largo del proyecto, m\u00e1s de 100 residencias de ancianos y 300 profesionales sanitarios, entre los que se incluyen enfermeros titulados, auxiliares de enfermer\u00eda y m\u00e9dicos, recibir\u00e1n formaci\u00f3n sobre medidas de prevenci\u00f3n y control de infecciones (PCI) y los principios de la gesti\u00f3n de la seguridad de los pacientes (AMS). Esta formaci\u00f3n hace hincapi\u00e9 en los enfoques diagn\u00f3sticos basados en la evidencia, la prescripci\u00f3n adecuada de antibi\u00f3ticos y la gesti\u00f3n eficaz de dispositivos m\u00e9dicos, como los cat\u00e9teres de demora. Al fomentar estas habilidades, IMAGINE pretende alcanzar resultados cuantificables: una reducci\u00f3n del 20% en los casos de sospecha de infecciones urinarias, una disminuci\u00f3n del 40% en el uso inadecuado de antibi\u00f3ticos para estas infecciones y una reducci\u00f3n del 10% en la incidencia de otras infecciones.<\/p><p><strong>Escalabilidad e impacto financiero<\/strong><\/p><p>Lo que distingue a IMAGINE es su adaptabilidad a las diversas realidades de los pa\u00edses participantes y su compromiso con la escalabilidad. Expertos locales, como enfermeras de control de infecciones y microbi\u00f3logos, adaptar\u00e1n las intervenciones a las necesidades espec\u00edficas de cada CTA, garantizando tanto la relevancia como la eficacia. Adem\u00e1s, es notable el efecto domin\u00f3 del proyecto: los profesionales capacitados formar\u00e1n posteriormente a sus colegas, ampliando el alcance del impacto de IMAGINE y generando importantes beneficios econ\u00f3micos, incluidos ahorros hospitalarios proyectados de 1,5 millones de euros anuales.<\/p><p><strong>Sinergias con drive-AMS<\/strong><\/p><p>drive-AMS e IMAGINE se complementan al utilizar la ciencia conductual como pilar para un uso prudente de los antimicrobianos (AMS) eficaz. Ambos proyectos emplean encuestas de auditor\u00eda para evaluar la prescripci\u00f3n de antibi\u00f3ticos, asegurando mejoras basadas en datos, y enfatizan la capacitaci\u00f3n para expandir las comunidades nacionales de AMS.
