href=\"https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/es\/launch-of-drive-ams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drive-AMS<\/a> organised a <strong>Training of Trainers Course<\/strong> in Nijmegen, hosted by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radboudumc.nl\/en\/radboudumc-center-for-infectious-diseases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Radboudumc<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The course combined their <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.radboudumc.nl\/en\/education\/courses\/dutch-antimicrobial-stewardship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dutch AMS Masterclass<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the Global-PPS tool and expertise. The future trainers were taught how to guide professionals and policy makers through developing and implementing a successful Antimicrobial Stewardship Program in their hospital, healthcare system, region or even country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The four-day event resulted in a great mix of <strong>knowledge transfer<\/strong> y <strong>community building<\/strong>. It was the perfect opportunity to connect, collaborate and exchange ideas! <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSince 2019, the Dutch AMS Masterclass has already been taught to over 300 healthcare providers from more than 20 countries,\u201d says Jeroen Schouten, AMS program lead at Radboudumc, ESCMID ESGAP Chair and drive-AMS coordinator. \u201cThe experience has told us that training in <\/span><b>implementation science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y <\/span><b>behavioural change <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are <\/span><b>essential <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for successful implementation of any antimicrobial stewardship program, and that <\/span><b>procuring data<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on institutional prescribing patterns is the <\/span><b>first step <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to change (prescribing) behaviour. Starting this year, with support from the European Commission, we\u2019ve expanded the program to include measurement as the first and last step of making and measuring the desired change. Global-PPS gives participants the <\/span><b>O<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pportunity to build AMS <\/span><b>Ca<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pacity and grow their <\/span><b>M<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">otivation to tackle AMR.
