\"\"El 5 de abril de 2021, el equipo de Global-PPS public\u00f3 un papel<\/a> en la revista Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy que se centra en los patrones de prescripci\u00f3n de antibi\u00f3ticos en hospitales en pacientes adultos seg\u00fan la clasificaci\u00f3n Acceso, Vigilancia y Reserva de la OMS (Consciente<\/a>). Esta clasificaci\u00f3n se ha desarrollado para apoyar a los pa\u00edses y hospitales en la promoci\u00f3n del uso racional de los antibi\u00f3ticos y, al mismo tiempo, mejorar el acceso a estos medicamentos esenciales.<\/p>

La resistencia a los antimicrobianos es una amenaza real: el consumo mundial de antibi\u00f3ticos en el sector sanitario aument\u00f3 en un 651 % entre 2000 y 2015. La optimizaci\u00f3n del uso de antimicrobianos en entornos hospitalarios y comunitarios mediante la gesti\u00f3n de antimicrobianos (AMS) se considera un elemento clave en la respuesta mundial a la resistencia a los antimicrobianos. Al mismo tiempo, muchos pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medios (PIBM) se enfrentan a retos como la mala calidad de los antibi\u00f3ticos, la venta sin receta m\u00e9dica con una regulaci\u00f3n laxa y el acceso limitado a los antibi\u00f3ticos esenciales. La OMS clasific\u00f3 un total de 180 antibi\u00f3ticos disponibles en todo el mundo en tres grupos: Acceso, Vigilancia y Reserva (AWaRe).<\/p>

Los antibi\u00f3ticos del grupo Acceso se consideran agentes de primera o segunda l\u00ednea en el tratamiento de varios s\u00edndromes infecciosos comunes y, por lo tanto, deben ser ampliamente accesibles y asequibles. \"\"El Global Point Prevalence Survey sobre el Consumo y la Resistencia Antimicrobiana (Global-PPS<\/a>) recopila datos sobre el uso de antibi\u00f3ticos en hospitales utilizando una metodolog\u00eda estandarizada de PPS. Los datos de Global-PPS 2015, 2017 y 2018, recopilados por 664 hospitales en 69 pa\u00edses, se categorizaron en grupos AWaRe para calcular el uso proporcional de AWaRe, las proporciones de Acceso-a-Vigilancia y las indicaciones m\u00e1s comunes para el tratamiento con antibi\u00f3ticos de Vigilancia seleccionados. Solo se analizaron las prescripciones de antibi\u00f3ticos sist\u00e9micos en plantas de hospitalizaci\u00f3n de adultos.<\/p>

El uso de la categor\u00eda \u00abRegional Access\u00bb oscil\u00f3 entre 28,41 TP3T en Asia Occidental y Central y 57,71 TP3T en Ocean\u00eda, mientras que el uso de la categor\u00eda \u00abWatch\u00bb fue m\u00e1s bajo en Ocean\u00eda (41,31 TP3T) y m\u00e1s alto en Asia Occidental y Central (66,11 TP3T).
