Esta clasificaci\u00f3n se ha desarrollado para apoyar a los pa\u00edses y hospitales en la promoci\u00f3n del uso racional de los antibi\u00f3ticos y, al mismo tiempo, mejorar el acceso a estos medicamentos esenciales.<\/p><p>La resistencia a los antimicrobianos es una amenaza real: el consumo mundial de antibi\u00f3ticos en el sector sanitario aument\u00f3 en un 651 % entre 2000 y 2015. La optimizaci\u00f3n del uso de antimicrobianos en entornos hospitalarios y comunitarios mediante la gesti\u00f3n de antimicrobianos (AMS) se considera un elemento clave en la respuesta mundial a la resistencia a los antimicrobianos. Al mismo tiempo, muchos pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medios (PIBM) se enfrentan a retos como la mala calidad de los antibi\u00f3ticos, la venta sin receta m\u00e9dica con una regulaci\u00f3n laxa y el acceso limitado a los antibi\u00f3ticos esenciales. La OMS clasific\u00f3 un total de 180 antibi\u00f3ticos disponibles en todo el mundo en tres grupos: Acceso, Vigilancia y Reserva (AWaRe).<\/p><p>Los antibi\u00f3ticos del grupo Acceso se consideran agentes de primera o segunda l\u00ednea en el tratamiento de varios s\u00edndromes infecciosos comunes y, por lo tanto, deben ser ampliamente accesibles y asequibles. El grupo Vigilancia incluye antibi\u00f3ticos que tienen un mayor riesgo de seleccionar resistencia y que se utilizan como opciones de primera o segunda l\u00ednea para un n\u00famero limitado de indicaciones. Finalmente, el grupo Reserva contiene un conjunto de antibi\u00f3ticos de \u00faltimo recurso que deben ser monitoreados intensivamente y solo deben usarse bajo ciertas condiciones espec\u00edficas para conservar su efectividad.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-14342\" src=\"https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please-16x9.png 16w, https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Face-masks-please.png 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/>El Global Point Prevalence Survey sobre el Consumo y la Resistencia Antimicrobiana (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.global-pps.com\/es\/\">Global-PPS<\/a>) recopila datos sobre el uso de antibi\u00f3ticos en hospitales utilizando una metodolog\u00eda estandarizada de PPS. Los datos de Global-PPS 2015, 2017 y 2018, recopilados por 664 hospitales en 69 pa\u00edses, se categorizaron en grupos AWaRe para calcular el uso proporcional de AWaRe, las proporciones de Acceso-a-Vigilancia y las indicaciones m\u00e1s comunes para el tratamiento con antibi\u00f3ticos de Vigilancia seleccionados. Solo se analizaron las prescripciones de antibi\u00f3ticos sist\u00e9micos en plantas de hospitalizaci\u00f3n de adultos.<\/p><p>El uso de la categor\u00eda \u00abRegional Access\u00bb oscil\u00f3 entre 28,41 TP3T en Asia Occidental y Central y 57,71 TP3T en Ocean\u00eda, mientras que el uso de la categor\u00eda \u00abWatch\u00bb fue m\u00e1s bajo en Ocean\u00eda (41,31 TP3T) y m\u00e1s alto en Asia Occidental y Central (66,11 TP3T). El uso de \u00abReserve\u00bb oscil\u00f3 entre 0,03% en \u00c1frica subsahariana y 4,7% en Am\u00e9rica Latina. Se observaron grandes diferencias en la prescripci\u00f3n de AWaRe a nivel nacional. Los antibi\u00f3ticos de \u00abWatch\u00bb se prescribieron para una amplia gama de indicaciones muy diferentes en todo el mundo, tanto para uso terap\u00e9utico como profil\u00e1ctico.<\/p><p>El equipo de Global-PPS observ\u00f3 un alto uso de antibi\u00f3ticos Watch, particularmente en pa\u00edses de ingresos bajos y medios-altos, seguido por pa\u00edses de ingresos altos.
