A medida que los pa\u00edses de todo el mundo se enfrentan a una pandemia sin precedentes, existe una profunda preocupaci\u00f3n de que el uso generalizado de antibi\u00f3ticos en pacientes con COVID-19 pueda aumentar la presi\u00f3n selectiva para la resistencia a los antibi\u00f3ticos. Por esta raz\u00f3n, hemos adaptado ligeramente el protocolo Global-PPS para permitir la vigilancia de pacientes con COVID-19. Los hospitales pueden volver a participar en hasta 3 per\u00edodos de recopilaci\u00f3n de datos en 2020.<\/strong><\/p>

Ante el continuo aumento de las infecciones por coronavirus, la administraci\u00f3n de antibi\u00f3ticos debe guiarnos tanto como sea posible para evitar el uso generalizado continuo de antibi\u00f3ticos. El Global-PPS tiene un papel que desempe\u00f1ar, ya que permite a los hospitales recopilar datos sobre el uso de antimicrobianos y la resistencia. A partir de 2020, solo est\u00e1 disponible el protocolo Global-PPS con el m\u00f3dulo HAI opcional. Al lado del\u00a0versi\u00f3n ligera<\/strong>\u00a0del protocolo, los hospitales pueden optar por realizar\u00a0versi\u00f3n completa<\/strong>\u00a0mediante el cual cada paciente que reciba un antimicrobiano el d\u00eda de la PPS deber\u00e1 completar un formulario complementario de IAAS. El protocolo tambi\u00e9n se ha adaptado para permitir an\u00e1lisis detallados en pacientes con COVID-19. Por esa raz\u00f3n, se han adaptado el formulario de IAAS, la lista de diagn\u00f3sticos y la lista de antimicrobianos (v\u00e9ase\u00a0aqu\u00ed<\/a>. Es importante destacar que los hospitales tambi\u00e9n pueden elegir encuestar solo a un conjunto de pabellones dentro del hospital (por ejemplo, solo unidades de cuidados intensivos, solo pabellones m\u00e9dicos, etc.).<\/p>
